ftw recordingz proudly presents the first solo release of elia vens!
with making his solo debut on ftw recordingz, elia vens only reveals a small fragment of his musical diversity. on side a, he really pulls out all stops with the track >jamon<. the distinctive baseline and the pumping kicks on this track will definitely light the fire for an inferno on the dance floor. high spirits guaranteed!
in contrast, the flying flute edit doesnt come like a bull at a gate and initially appears slightly atmospheric and subtle. the deep toms and analogous drums still care for a drifty groove and colour the track in a fragile paint of house. emotions culminate in the hypnotic flute playing right in the middle of the track which hijacks you to a journey of elia vens. enjoy your flight!
nice price deal !!! the kwattro kanali label returns with its second release containing 4 brawny tracks by liebig & enviro. the 4-tracker presents at first a gorgeous disco funk edit of a wellknown 80s synth pop hit with massive drums & extended synth line providing a definite cosmic disco feeling. next up is a heavily filtered disco tool with horny snippets woven around deep n low grooves, strictly made for maximised happiness. on the flip waits a smashing dancefloor-friendly groovetool contrasting its rhythmic drive with filtered vocals and a monstrous bassline. beefy kicks are added, guaranteed to raise a desire to dance! the last track is a hazy slo-mo looper with vocal teases, sexy shakers and a tough kick settled in a huge groove. don t miss that vinyl only release!
is it balearic side label magic wand returns with another stunning va collection in the celebrated series, and comes jam-packed with four fantastic balearic wonders, respectfully extended and amended. magic? you bet.
lets play house finishes its first full year with its 12th release, which, like the first—runaways indoor pool ep—features one original track and three remixes. the a1 comes courtesy of river & phoenix, a new nom de disque of australias young edits. earlier in 2012, he released his debut ep—castle rock—on editainment, hence the playful moniker. this song, however, is not an edit.
greg wilson needs little in the way of introductions, a stalwart of both the british 80s electro-funk scene and the current disco/edit movement to boot. release #16 sees greg make a welcome return to kat after his previous outing way back in 2007, and, again, his diverse music taste comes to the table to delight.

bring u up originally appeared on romans blackmale label in 1995 as a rumbling slice of new jersey garage complete with gospel samples and romanthony collaborator the trojan horse. it was a bit of a cult favourite with underground heads like dj deep. it wasnt until roman completely re-produced and re-sang the song in 2000 that it fully took on anthem status. out went the heavy kicks and hypnotic moods and in came james brown horn stabs and a live beat that sounded like bernard purdie had joined him for the session (the drums were actually provided by roman himself). the result was an instant club hit with everyone from pete tong to francois kevorkian that reached (a very respectable 74) in the uk national charts. on this 12 inch deetrons takes the funk vibe of romans 2000 version and toughens it up for todays dancefloors, lee webster adds a monster baseline and some serious beats. on the flip-side the original blackmale version is re-issued on vinyl for the first time as is an unreleased dj friendly edit of the 2000 version done by kevin mckay.
roll the dices peder mannerfelt presents a new 12 inch for the london based electronics label we can elude control. the release brings together a collection of percussive modular synth and noise experiments recorded live in his stockholm studio with the release exposing mannerfelts wider sonic interests and improvised approach outside of the production work he is more readily known for through projects such as roll the dice, fever ray and the subliminal kid.
come closer drafts a template of four hypnotic improvised recordings that cross the spectrum from industrial rhythms and arpeggiated modular cycles into angular ritualism and sähköesque reduction. collectively the material highlights a manifesto for a raw vintage futurism crafted from purist sonics and decisive percussive detailing, moulding aspects of tonal precision and immersive electronics from an array of analogue hardware.
psychemagik return to their disco imprint label discotheque wreckers with a fresh new 12inch of unknown nuggets and killer edits. the first cut what a funky night as the title suggests is a raw funky disco floorfiller, a freaky blend of euro rap and oddball new wave femme vox, from austria of all places, the b side rounds off the 12inch perfectly with a dubbed out, arpeggiated krautrock jam, with freaky vox, funky guitar licks and nasty ass drums makes this an essential crate dweller!
disco deviance are back with a seriously hot release by nycs very own deep&disco. following a run of strong releases on whiskey disco, deep&disco and razor n tape, here d&d reworks two underground classics that draw on inspiration from the golden days of larry levan and the heyday of disco music. respectfully edited, lovingly enhanced and beautifully remastered, they are guaranteed to work any dance floor.

a friend of us called max josef did this little soul house jam. and as all the gomma dj has been playing this at almost every gig and so many people have asked for it - we thought it might sense to give it a little vinyl release now. you can play this at a minimal party or a disco place. at 10, in the peaktime or at 5.

following the great reception of hiverned 01 here is the second installment of hiverns edit series. in the a side, tbs >invitation to love<, a highly anticipated track that is finally released after becoming a fixture in john talabots sets. based on twin peaks osts >laura palmers theme<, the track rephrases angelo badalamentis clas- sic from an acid house perspective. adding analog rhythms and a crispy bassli- ne to the ethereal chords of the original composition, this refix manages to keep the dream-like atmospheres of the song while transforming it into dancefloor- ready groove. the idea is simple, the results are magic. on the flip, marc pinol repeats appearance on the series revamping some lost australian minimal-wave track. in the vein of his previous >wheels< edit, the track conjures gloomy atmospheres and sparse rhythms with gritty synth melodies. on the top of it, the barcelonian producer adds dialogues from spanish cult art-house film >arrebato< (hence the title) multiplying the obscure ambience of the tune. once again, the release comes in a limited edition 10 inch wrapped in a handmade silk-screened sleeve. no digital and no-repress.
two fantastic disco edits: soirees string laden disco cover of diana ross - you keep me hangin on is on the a-side. originally it had some spotty vocals on it but they got edited out leaving a killer disco instrumental. b/w an extended edit of somethin bout you by millie jackson. comes in the new glenview die cut sleeve.
NOTHIN TO YA / TOO LATE / THE HUSTLE / I CAN SEE THE LIGHT
12 Inch 14.11.12
from the tropics comes whiskey disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. its loosely connected to sleazy mcqueen and his assorted cohorts...
new kanada enters the fall 2012 season with some dark angular acidic house. black and medleys >roll the dice< - featuring the voice of rosina – is an old-school blend of disco, ny house and classic toronto warehouse vibes. slightly acidic, with its bubbling juno bassline – and slightly techno with the driving, repetitive beat – this house track should rock the deepest of dancefloors. file somewhere between henry street and early adonis. 5am - no earlier. for the flipside, adam marshall sits down at the controls for a clinical, tight, stripped-down scrubbing, turning the original into a late-night fear edit. broken, diffused drums and lots of black empty space in this one. the lights go out – blackout.
crosstown release the triple vinyl sampler to the acclaimed get lost v album compiled and mixed by acid pauli. the album features loads of exclusives, some of which have been featured on this vinyl version of the album.
the first reference of this argentine label, monochromatic records, it is a serious bussiness. in one side, specter - a chicago producer that edit by labels like sound signature or sistrum- with a pure class organic and deep warm up track. on the other side is the banfield audio track, with a more floor oriented but yet deep and warm analogic sound.
endangered species is the eagerly awaited full-length album from wolf + lambs musically virtuosic no regular play, a duo equally at home in the rehearsal rooms of julliard as in the main room of fabric.their debut album was made in early summer 2012, exclusively in the studio of new york citys marcy hotel. over the course of 11 elegantly interlaced tracks, greg paulus and nicholas debruyn create a veritable cornucopia of beautiful forms
with his second release for planet mu this year, >dream on< is more of a full-length outing for ital aka daniel martin-mccormick and a much more substantial record than the popular and critically acclaimed >hive mind<.
on >dream on< ital takes his experimentation with house and techno forms even further, creating impressionistic deconstructions from the tropes of early house and techno. sunny chords, laid back drum shuffle and rhythmic vocal loops are picked apart and threaded with a rich psychodrama of delirious textures, tidal chords and uneasy roughness and dissonance.
vinyl format ships with digital download code.

aroy dees mos deep returns with a new ep from italians ksoul & muteoscillator, both of whom have appeared on labels like uzuri and ksouls own kinda soul with a gauzy, dense sound somewhere between techno, acid and full on electronica.
chairlift present takes on several cuts from acclaimed second album >something< by some of their favorite producers, showcasing how their songs can easily be adapted for the club. appropriately titled the 6.15amix, spanish equipo fantástico john talabot and pional turn >i belong in your arms< into a balearica-infused club-closer. a nifty piano line and seductive rhythm take the song on a late night (or rather early morning) trip to the beach, while carolines voice is being warped into something from outer space. photek takes the same track to a whole different place with his powerful jungle interpretation. martyn respects both the pace and rhythm of sidewalk safari, yet exchanges the clean production for a rather more cosmic beat, incorporating many of his signature touches to compliment the sinister >i m gonna hunt you down< lyric. dan careys dub mix of >sidewalk safari< shows a more playful side, while arguably the most intriguing remix of the package is the fields take on >met before<, recalling his early work it is so warped and layered you may struggle to imagine the original minus the smallest of hints.
